Le vignoble
La Soufrandière
Domaine de la Soufrandière is owned by the Bret brothers, Jean-Philippe and Jean-Guillaume, winegrowers who are also known for their haute couture wine merchant Bret Brothers. Since the end of the 90s, the Domaine has continued to rise in the hierarchy of the great Chardonnays of Southern Burgundy. The vines are now between 25 and 70 years old on very beautiful climats, Les Quarts and Les Longeays acquired in 1947 by A-J Bret, or in Mâcon Vinzelles on the Clos de Grand-Père. The vines are ideally situated at the top of clay-limestone slopes with a south-east exposure. The practice in the vineyard is exemplary, the wines being certified organic and also biodynamic since 2006 and the yields controlled at 40 hl/ha. The result is highly digestible, mineral wines with exceptional ageing capacity, thanks also to gentle vinification using indigenous yeasts, with very little intervention.
