Monumental flesh, silkiness, finesse and enormous length also characterise this wine.

Colour: Intense ruby
Nose: cherry, fur and very floral.
In the mouth: the attack is supple, with red fruits and spices.

Ageing: Foudres and barrels: 30 months of ageing

Muntada is the result of precision work. The 30 months of ageing are also perfectly integrated.
An exceptional concentration, a monumental fleshiness, a perfectly designed structure and a finish with a length that would make many great names pale.

Gérard and Lionel Gauby, (father and son), two enthusiasts of the terroir, have raised their estate to the top of the Languedoc. Internationally recognised, and working biodynamically since 2001, their wines reflect their high standards.
Their distinction: producing perfectly balanced Mediterranean wines.

As a true friend of nature, he seeks to preserve as much as possible the diversity of the biotope, the natural setting in which his vines flourish. It's simple, there is nothing like it in the Roussillon.

The Estate Gauby

Gérard Gauby, the master of Calce, has been pursuing his path to excellence for some thirty years now. This emblematic figure and standard-bearer of the Roussillon revival masters all the complexity of the Roussillon terroirs like no other. With his son and his wife, they deliver vintage after vintage a style of wine that is pure, fresh, digestible and dense at the same time, with an exemplary balance and straightforwardness, whether in red or white. The relentless work of the soil in the vineyard is a major factor in this. The diversity and complexity of Calce's terroirs is reflected in the glass in the most beautiful way. Muntada in red, Roque in white of maceration (orange wine) or Coume Gineste in white; as many great vintages which could (which should already rather!) claim one day to the qualifier of grand cru..
