History :
The Dr. H. Thanisch estate was launched in 1800 when the Thanisch family moved to the Mosel region to operate their first vineyard. Throughout the 19th century, the estate became well known beyond the German borders, thanks to the owner at the time, the doctor of philosophy Hugo Thanisch. The estate has always remained in family hands and is now owned by Mechtild Thanisch. The vineyard is exclusively planted with Riesling. Vineyard management:

Description:
The steep Bernkasteler Doctor plot has contributed greatly to the prestige of Mosel wines and Thanisch in particular. The sugar levels obtained are high (up to 100 gr/l) but the balance is perfect.
The nose is rich and complex, with notes of lychee, quince, peach and also some notes of fresh herbs and spices which reveal a beautiful freshness. On the palate we find this beautiful concentration with the balance preserved.
