La Vigne Cendrée has a very Burgundian style. The wine, still very young of course, nevertheless already offers impressive generosity and tension, accompanied by a noble reduction. Pure, clean and precise nose of citrus fruit. The palate is sharp and precise, and goes on and on... The finish is pure, slightly smoky, ashy...
This is the smallest parcel of the estate (0.5 hectare), an old wood cleared and replanted by Thibaud, located on a small hill in Savennières. "La Vigne Cendrée" is a singular mosaic of subsoils composed of purple schist, granite and clayey silt. The southern exposure and the clay give it a superlative power.
Half of the production is aged in 226 litre Burgundy barrels and half in tuns, without new wood, for 12 months.
