Dark red colour. Nose of morello cherries, red fruits and spices. Well-balanced and fresh mouth with a good tonic presence and verylong-lasting.

Goes wonderfully well with red meats, game and cheeses of character.
Tasting temperature: 16 to 18°C

Harvesting and maturing:
The grapes are harvested by hand for all the red wines and for the old vines in the white.

The wine is aged in oak barrels, with topping up and stirring of the lees, as is traditional in Burgundy for our old vines (38 to 45 years old).

The producer (the domain, its evolution, anecdotes) :

The wines of Gy, which in the Middle Ages were the property of the archbishops of Besançon, already had an international reputation and were drunk, a little later, at the table of the nobles of the 16th century.

As for the Guillaume family, they have been winegrowers since 1732 and nurserymen since 1895 in Charcenne and Gy. Their vineyards are a little different from other wine estates, as their primary purpose is not only to produce grapes to make wines, but they are mainly a base for the production of vine plants, and as such the vineyard areas are constantly evolving according to the new selections of vine plants that they develop.

Their wines are sold for 30% of the export market: USA, Canada, England, Belgium, Germany, Singapore, Japan, Denmark, Italy and Switzerland.

The Estate Guillaume Vineyard
