On the nose, notes of syrup, white peach and citrus fruits are very concentrated, while on the palate, the wine is generous, with good tension and a fruity and greedy finish. It is a wine with a very good ageing potential.
Concentrated, long and rich, it is a great success and, in my opinion, the best Q/P ratio of the house. 5 to 10 years in the cellar will do it the world of good!
Chavigne is a 3.3 hectare plot on the top of the hillside planted with Chardonnay vines ranging in age from 10 to 80 years.
An absolute reference in the Mâconnais, Jean-Marie Guffens is a gifted wine maker, well known for having raised his white wines to the level of the greatest crus of the Côte de Beaune.
These wines vibrate to the rhythm of his deep convictions for an aesthetic viticulture.
Each cuvée of the domain is a perfect mineral translation of the soils.
