Aleksé Single Cask de Michel Couvreur est un whisky de fût unique, produit en quantité très limitée, qui met en avant la personnalité propre de son élevage et la précision du travail de Michel Couvreur. La robe présente un ambré profond aux reflets acajou. Le nez est complexe et concentré, sur des arômes de fruits secs, de pruneau et d'écorce d'orange confite. À l’aération, apparaissent des notes de cacao, de noix, de cuir, de tabac blond, de cire d’abeille et d'épices douces. En bouche, l’attaque est ample avant de dévoiler une matière dense, soyeuse et parfaitement équilibrée. Le milieu de bouche développe des saveurs de fruits confits, de chocolat noir, de café léger et de bois noble, soutenues par une belle fraîcheur qui équilibre la richesse aromatique. La finale est très longue, profonde et persistante, sur des notes d'épices, de fruits secs, de noix et une élégante touche de rancio. Un single cask d'une grande personnalité, où chaque détail de l'élevage s'exprime avec précision et profondeur.
Terroir : whisky élaboré et élevé en Bourgogne par Michel Couvreur à partir de distillats écossais.
Vinification et élevage : malt whisky distillé en Écosse puis élevé en Bourgogne. Cette cuvée provient d'un unique fût (Single Cask), sélectionné pour son expression singulière. Vieillissement prolongé, principalement en anciens fûts de xérès.
Accords mets/vin : chocolat noir à forte teneur en cacao, tarte Tatin, jambon ibérique affiné.

The Estate Michel Couvreur
After a brilliant career as a wine merchant, Michel Couvreur, who sadly passed away in August 2013, had a deep desire to create his own masterpiece. This Flemish-born man discovered whisky thanks to a senior member of the Navy who passed on his passion. A true enthusiast by nature and in perpetual quest for excellence and perfection, he began in the 1970s to dig his own cellars in Bouze-Les-Beaune in Burgundy, where he would age his precious nectars.
Michel Couvreur 's whisky was born from a personal philosophy.
According to him, "90% of the quality of a whisky comes from the cask used" while at the same time, the fashion, at the time, pushes certain brands of whisky in search of volume to use American woods not always of the noblest origin...
He therefore tried to push the quality approach by selecting traditional Andalusian Pedro Ximenez or Oloroso casks (notably from the famous Jerez producer Emilio Lustau) which blend in wonderfully with the taste of the barley and where the Clearach and New Spirit would wait a long time to give birth to the famous Michel Couvreur whisky. Demanding by nature, he does not neglect the rest, importing his water from Loch Katrine in Scotland to Burgundy. He has even grown a variety of barley in the Orkney Islands in Scotland called Bere Barley, the oldest of the Scottish varieties and recognised for its great aromatic qualities for malt production, especially when distilled with the talent of a master...
