Magnum Tertre Roteboeuf
François Mitjavile's famous, unique and very confidential Tertre Roteboeuf at its most charming!
"François Mitjavile does not hide his attraction to late vintages with their senescent charm and autumnal tannins. His interpretation of the 2014 stands out as much as it seduces, with an impression of sweet velvet and an aromatic complexity rare in the vintage. For all that, the wine remains airy in texture, with an irresistible Dorian Gray, decadent, faded violet quality."18/20 RVF Guide 2018 and 2019
Notes: 18,5/20 Bettane + Desseauve and 18/20 RVF
Its "supremely pure" bouquet is reminiscent of the complexity of the Burgundy Grands Crus.
Cherry, blackberry, leather, flowers, truffle, mineral... Ripe, full-bodied, rich and velvety, both deep and airy.
Tertre Roteboeuf has transcended the garage wine trend to impose its style on the Bordeaux landscape. Dazzling and breathtaking!
An ample and generous wine, a remarkable balance between delicacy of texture and power of structure, a magnificent bouquet of ripe fruit.
From the very beginning, François Mitjavile has applied to the letter the precepts of the famous oenologist Emile Peynaud: "I favour the quality of the fruit; ageing only develops this potential" he quotes.
Vintage 2014
Superb vintage, representing well what we call the elegance of Bordeaux.
The summer was cool and rainy, the autumn dry and mild. As a result, ripening was slow and the harvest late. We started harvesting between 15 and 20 October for Tertre Roteboeuf and Roc de Cambes.
It was therefore an autumn ripening. Which means?
Long, damp, cool nights.
Beautiful, sunny days, without excessive heat.
And for the wine?
Tender, sensual tannins, slightly degraded.
Fruit with a hint of candied fruit...and fresh!
So, something very elegant, combining tenderness, sensuality and freshness.
These wines will be charming from their youth, and...in the flavours of age!

The Estate Le Clos du Caillou
All these specificities, gathered at the heart of the Clos du Caillou estate, allow us to offer very high quality Côtes du Rhône wines, such as the magnificent Quartz vintage, which demonstrates the richness of these exceptional terroirs. In addition, Sylvie Vacheron and Bruno Gaspard have been converting the estate to organic farming since 2006. The 2010 vintage was the first to benefit from the organic label (AB), which completes the quality of the work undertaken for decades. An estate to be followed closely, with all the qualities to produce the best... Discover the best vintages on the Passionnés du Vin website; Bouquet des garrigues, Quartz, Safres, Cuvée réserve; all of these vintages will brighten up your taste buds (in moderation) and go wonderfully well with a multitude of dishes, for an exceptional tasting experience.
The Estate Tertre Roteboeuf
