D'une année à l'autre, Les Pouches affirme avec assurance sa race et son potentiel infini. Le nez, intense, dévoile des notes de cerise fraîche et de végétal noble. Cela se poursuit avec un caractère terrien distinctif qui s'épanouit dans une bouche droite et savoureuse. Les tanins de grande qualité ajoutent une tannicité remarquable à l'ensemble !

Terroir : alluvions sur calcaire du quaternaire, sables limoneux en surface.

Vinification et élevage : vinification en cuves en béton puis sont transvasés par gravité dans de vieilles barriques bordelaises. Puis élevage de 24 mois en barriques bordelaises et ligériennes neuves et de 1, 2 et 3 vins.

Accords mets/vin : carpaccio de boeuf, pâtes fraîches au gorgonzola et aux noix.

The Estate La Porte Saint-Jean

The Domaine La Porte Saint-Jean is beginning to build a solid reputation on the web, on starred tables and for export. Sylvain Dittière is the son-in-law of the late Charly Foucault (Clos Rougeard). Our first visit on July 28th 2015 allowed us to discover the "character", a winegrower of a rare dynamism and an extreme requirement. We also discovered his "breeding cave", a superb troglodyte cellar and his red and white wines: purity of the fruit picked at a good maturity, breeding of a formidable precision, draconian sorting, silky tannins, natural energy and exemplary balance, nothing less... We are on a level rarely reached in the Loire region, except at Clos Rougeard... Enjoy it again because the prices remain really reasonable in view of the exceptional quality of the nectar! A talent to be followed very closely... PORTRAIT FROM THE 2017 GUIDE OF THE REVUE DU VIN DE FRANCE "A talented thirty-year-old, Sylvain Dittière has worked for the Gaubys, Thierry Germain, Château Yvonne and Clos Rougeard, where he became involved with the Foucault family. This very serious apprenticeship naturally led him to set up in 2011 in Montreuil Bellay, in an old and very cool cellar, perfect for the long maturation that is his trademark. The original range includes a Sauvignon Blanc on clay and sandy soils, aged for 14 months in barrel, and a Chenin, La Perlée, which has spent 24 months in barrel. The two reds are very well controlled, offering exciting flavours and a remarkable frankness of expression, with a patina of great precision and rigour in their ageing. The Estate Sottimano

Rino Sottimano took over the estate in 1975. His son Andrea joined him in 1994 along with Elena and Claudia. The vineyard is located in the heart of the superb Barbaresco terroirs and the Cotta, Currà, Fausoni, Pajorè and Basarin crus and now covers 18 hectares. The vines are cultivated organically with the utmost respect for the terroir. The wines are aged in barrels according to Burgundy principles (not in tuns). The wines are neither filtered nor fined. The production of the estate is gradually joining the best references of the region with prices still very reasonable considering the growing reputation of the estate. Quote from Rino Sottimano: "I always believe that every great wine is the result of serious, conscientious and passionate work in the vineyards. This is why, from day one, I have always tried to avoid all chemical products and herbicides, to preserve the natural balance of our soils."
