Cet Irouléguy Haitza a une robe rubis intense. Il présente un nez complexe sur la griotte et le réglisse. La bouche est dynamique, présentant des saveurs de fruits noirs bien mûrs et d'épices (clou de girofle). L'attaque est franche, les tanins justes et la longueur impeccable, sur une finale délicatement amère, qui rafraichît l'ensemble. Une grande bouteille et pour une dizaine d'années !

Terroir : grès rouges, issu des vignes les plus anciennes.  Vendanges manuelles, triées, non foulées, macération de 3 semaines. 

Vinification : élevage en barrique de 225, 400 et 600 litres pendant 18 mois. 

Accord mets/vin : viandes grasses, gibier, porc grillé, agneau.

The Estate Arretxea

Thérèse and Michel Riouspeyrous, who are now quietly handing over the estate to their sons Iban and Théo, can be proud of their success on their family estate. They have become the reference for Basque wines and perhaps even for the whole of the South West. They own 8 hectares of vines on a very particular terroir which mixes poor soils and altitude (sometimes 400 metres!). Soils of sandstone, ophite, schist, ampelite... which, when worked in parcels with local grape varieties (courbu, petit manseng, tannat...), show the full potential of this land. Great terroir wines are born here, full of minerality.
