A black colour that immediately announces a concentrated wine. The nose is very Syrah, fresh, with redcurrant and liquorice. A voluminous and explosive palate, with fresh fruit bursting from the glass. A truly brilliant wine with remarkable energy, with tannins that are still firm but racy, on graphite, reminding us of the terroir from which this marvel comes.

This almost pure Syrah comes from a plot of schist. The grapes have been carefully vinified in stainless steel tanks, and the result is young and splendid. Intense, full-bodied, luminous fruitiness wanders over powdery, devoted tannins. A wine of pure, untamed energy, and a joy to savour.

I thought then, even though I am not an aficionado, of the heartache that the Torero must feel when the Toro enters the arena... my heart stopped. Ten years later, in memory of this unique moment, of this emotion that is still alive, I have chosen to call this singular wine, long, tense, fragrant with violets, Moluccan pepper and truffles, with its subtle fruit and intact freshness, an unusual name
