Brisefer - Réserve Perpétuelle
The Terroir
Chardonnay vineyard planted at the bottom of the hillside in 1947, 1966 and 1992. Slightly sloping (5%), exposed to the east, composed of sedimentary clays from the Sparnacian period which have been decarbonated on the surface (very slightly chalky). Our grandfather, a pioneer of "manipulative" winegrowers, saw this as a great terroir, and was already making his great vintage here. Part of the plot (about a quarter) was replanted in the spring of 2015.
The wine
The plants are from a Massale selection. The soil is worked mechanically under the row and the central part is grassed.
The Service
In a large white wine glass at a temperature above 10°. Can be decanted.
The Perpetual Reserve
Our conviction today is that the expression of a terroir finds meaning in the blending of successive harvests, going beyond the "vintage effect". From 2013 onwards, we started to build up a Perpetual Reserve for each parcel-based cuvée. As time went by, each plot reserve found its balance in a proportion of renewal
found its balance in a proportion of renewal that is specific to it. This proportion is 35% for Brisefer.
