Le Clos des Mailles est un des très beaux terroirs de Faye qui surplombent le Layon où le schiste et ses veines de phtanites (roches bleues très dures) prédominent.

We are very happy to be able to introduce you once again to the talented Pierre Ménard, who has been pursuing his career since 2013 and who this year is offering us a new wine, La Varenne de Chanzé, a Chenin from a schist plot, a tasty and taut wine with candied citrus fruits and lemon tart, magnificent... A wine that completes the existing range composed of Laïka, a dazzling Sauvignon on schist, the subtle chenin Cosmos as a sweet wine and three other dry chenins; Le Quart des Noëls on a parcel of vines almost a century old, Le Clos des Mailles on a privileged terroir rich in quartz and phtanite, and Pluton an intra-parcel cuvée even richer in phtanite that Pierre Ménard decides to isolate when the vintage lends itself to it. A faultless wine to be discovered urgently...
