This formidable cuvée has been aged for more than 2 years in old Romanée Contibarrels , which partly explains its level.Itstexture is pulpy, a crisp sweetness with fine and precise tannins. A beautiful concentration and a remarkable freshness make this cuvée a rather remarkable value for money.
Domaine de Montcalmes is one of the most prominent estates in the Languedoc. Since his first vintage in 1999, Frédéric Pourtalié has succeeded in placing his estate among the best. Compared to the most talented winemakers in his region, this demanding winemaker trained at the Grange des Pères, Alain Graillot and Oratoire Saint Martin estates. Located in Aniane and Puéchabon, the Domaine de Montcalmes vineyard is established on a limestone terroir where Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Roussane, Marsanne and Chardonnay flourish.
The wines of Domaine de Montcalmes impress with their balance and elegance. Combining power and finesse, the red wines of the estate can be aged for ten years. The very rare white wines are superb.
