The first XO from the Chamarel distillery is finally available!
This Extra Old rum is a six year old. It is a blend of 60% column rums and 40% double distillation rums. It is then aged in French oak barrels, 30% of which are new, 60% second fill and 10% storage barrels. The new casks have different toastings from those used for the VSOP to bring out more spices

NOSE :
Complex harmony of spices and fruits. Woody notes followed by vanilla and dried fruits.

PALATE :
Intense, spicy with notes of vanilla, fig and plum. Subtle notes of toffee.

Well balanced, intense and dry.
