Jean-Pierre Venture started his fabulous adventure as a winemaker in 1998 when he created the Mas de la Seranne in 1998, starting by buying his first five hectares of vines on the renowned terroirs of Aniane, the estate now has 17 hectares. The vines are planted with Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, but also Carignan and Cinsault, which add complexity when blended with the classic Languedoc grape varieties.

Convinced of the original qualities of the Terrasses du Larzac, the winegrower of Mas de la Séranne is actively involved, as President of the Terrasses du Larzac, in order to obtain the AOC like his neighbours from Pic Saint-Loup had obtained. It was a long battle, but it was achieved on 27 June 2014, a well-deserved reward when you know the quality of these terroirs!

The Venture couple, who are very attached to their region and its nature, undertook in parallel a conversion to organic farming and the estate obtained its AB certification in 2012, allowing them to achieve a remarkable level of authenticity in their wines.

The wines of Mas de la Séranne are rich wines, but not only. The particularity of the Terrasses du Larzac gives them not only a great character linked to the degree of alcohol but also a very particular freshness due to the altitude of the terroir (1000m), which makes them well-balanced and complex wines.
A rare thing in the Languedoc, each grape variety and each plot of land of the domain is vinified separately in order to favour the aromatic complexity of the wines.
It is at least a success when you get to a tasting of the different vintages...

You can now discover the vintages of Mas de la Séranne on the website Les Passionnés Du Vin. Tajines, beef, game and cheese will go perfectly with a Clos des Immortelles or the magnificent cuvée Antonin et Louis, which you will appreciate and consume in moderation.
