The nose is pleasant and complex, with aromas of violet and blackcurrant after aeration. Then come the spicy notes, dominated by liquorice on a delicately woody background.
On the palate, the wine is dense and concentrated, with aromas of black fruit, tapenade, violet and spices. The structure is powerful with fine and smooth tannins and the whole, harmonious and round, seduces by a successful balance on the richness of the material.
The finish, spicy and nicely wooded, ends on a beautiful length with a touch of minerality, guaranteeing a good ageing potential.
Domaine Combier is without doubt one of the leading estates in the Crozes Hermitage appellation, along with the very famous Clos des Grives.
The latter is made from the oldest vines on the estate and represents one of the finest vintages in the appellation.
The estate comprises 20 hectares of vines, 90% of which are in red.
Always talkative about his wines, Laurent cultivates simplicity and affirms a love of his terroir, which he returns in the best possible way by producing healthy, ripe grapes, the true starting point for a great wine.
