La Spinetta Piemonte
"I make my wine in the vineyard and not in the cellar Giorgio Rivetti
La Spinetta was founded in 1977 by Giorgio, Bruno and Giaco-mo. Among other things, they started to produce a quality Moscato d'Asti, which quickly gained an excellent reputation among prestigious restaurants and connoisseurs. They offer wines in the great appellations of Piedmont such as Barbera d'Asti, Barbaresco and, from 2000, Barolo. The three Rivetti brothers share the same philosophy, the quest for the best possible quality, without compromise. Even if this means going against conservative ideas (still very present in Piedmont) or drastically reducing yields. Their labels are as surprising as their wines. The rhinoceros (Barbaresco and Barbera) and the lion (Barolo) are in fact works of art by Albrecht Dürer (1471-1528), a German artist recognised as the most important of the German Renaissance.
