Jéroboam Côte du Py
Majestic and greedy, the Côte du Py of Jean Foillard in Jeroboam!
This wine is simply sublime. The old Gamay grapes benefit from the exceptional terroir of the Côte du Py, which brings depth and minerality. Aromas of Morello cherry mixed with peony, beautiful structure and superb finish brought by a perfect mastery of the one year ageing in barrels. A bottle for epicurean Beaujolais lovers to taste. Bottle sealed with wax.
Jean Foillard is one of those winegrowers who have made the reputation of the Grands Beaujolais. This member of the "bande à Marcel" (Lapierre) produces mainly Morgon wines on 8 hectares. He practices clean viticulture and vinifies his wines in the traditional Beaujolais carbonic maceration method. With little or no filtration and a minimum of sulphur, the result is sincere wines made by an engaging, humble and talented character.
