Haut Lieu Moelleux 1ère Trie
This 1st Trie explodes with class and shows enormous potential. The balance is fantastic, between the minerality of the chalky terroir and the persistence of candied citrus fruits, in an unctuous style that will only become more complex over time...
Domaine Huet has been practicing the bio-dynamic method since 1990.
The soil is not very thick, with an average depth of 1 metre, and is in direct contact with the limestone rock, which is not active. Located on the 1st hillside above the church of Vouvray. It is worked mechanically in accordance with traditional methods, ploughing to cover the vines after the harvest. In the spring, he carries out a decavaillonnage, i.e. he removes the earth from the foot of the vines. Then periodically, he removes the grass as it grows, using mechanical tools. This mechanical treatment is essential, and he has never used chemical weed killers on the estate in order to preserve the microbial life of the soil. The organic fertilisers used in small quantities are produced on the farm from cattle manure and straw that has been composted for about a year. The treatment products used to protect the vineyard are only Bordeaux mixture, powdered sulphur, and plant-based preparations (horsetail, nettle, yarrow). Since 1988, they have completely eliminated the use of acaricides, insecticides and all synthetic chemical products. Thus, they have recreated an ecologically balanced environment where natural predators are once again present. The work on the soil and the vines is carried out according to the different rhythms of the planets, as practised more or less consciously by the winegrowers of past centuries. This method of cultivation, which respects the soil, the plant and the environment, allows the character of their wines to be developed and the authenticity of their terroirs to be preserved.

The Estate Huet
The Vouvray Huet white wines are dry, semi-dry, sweet or mellow, and all the vintages are made organically. The Huet estate is one of the precursors of the biodynamic culture. Each production benefits from a cold fermentation in used barrels. Bottling takes place the following spring. This choice highlights the excellent quality of the production of Domaine Huet. This is enhanced by the quality of its vines, which allow the development of these exceptional terroirs. Jean-Bernard Berthomé, the current vineyard manager, ensures the ideal distribution of the vines. Half of the plantations are between 30 and 50 years old, 35% are between 10 and 30 years old, while only 15% of the vines are less than 10 years old. The best vintages, in several vintages (including old ones) can be found on the Les Passionnés Du Vin website, offered in limited quantities for the rarest. Reserve the vintages of your choice now to discover or rediscover these famous vintages highlighting the exceptional mineral mosaic of Loire chenins.
