VV - Marcillac Vieilles Vignes
Intense nose, peppery, exhaling violet and black fruits. Beautiful structure; the wine is well constructed, ample and generous. On the palate, jellied fruit, strawberries, liquorice and a long, savoury finish.
Red colour with violet tints. Blackcurrant and mint on the nose, with spicy and peppery notes. The palate is fleshy with black fruit, a nice refined structure and melted tannins. This wine can be drunk now, but has great ageing potential.
This Marcillac cuvée comes from vines over 50 years old made up of the old "Fer Servadou" grape variety. The vines are planted on steep slopes of limestone and Permian red soil and are therefore hand-harvested. The wine is aged in old tuns that are more than 30 years old and bottled 2 years after the harvest.
