Clos Floridène
Refined, richly fruity nose, pistachio, apricot, verbena, great minerality, full-bodied, with superb presence, persistent aromas and excellent balancing vivacity. Chiselled and very fresh.
This Clos Floridène has the minerality of its limestone terroir and its nose speaks of citrus and white fruits.
On the palate, it is fresh, dense, structured and powerful.
This wine is close to Sauternes and Barsac, in the commune of Pujols-sur-Ciron. If this river is closely associated with the fogs that favour noble rot, we are indeed in the presence of a dry white wine, classified in the Graves appellation.
The vines cover nearly 23 hectares of a thin layer of iron-rich clayey sand on a porous limestone base that allows good water circulation, especially in summer. The blend consists of 55% Sauvignon, 44% Semillon and a small percentage of Muscadelle, which are harvested by hand in two passes if necessary.
The vinification and the 8 months of maturing take place in oak barrels renewed by quarter each year.
