The oldest family estate producing Armagnac
Château de Lacquy has been owned by the same family since 1711. This exceptional estate, located in Gascony, in the heart of the "golden triangle" known as the Grand Bas Armagnac, has been dedicated since the 17th century to this very fine, complex, long-lasting and very fragrant brandy called Armagnac. The Château de Lacquy is, in fact, one of the oldest producers in France of the appellation.
An exceptional natural ecological balance
This 400-hectare estate, in which the Bas-Armagnac of Château de Lacquy originates, is a true ecological treasure trove made up of forests of many species, lakes and wetlands. The fauna is also very varied, with many protected species in danger of extinction. Within this protected natural balance, 20 hectares of vines flourish on a light soil composed of ochre-coloured sands (the famous "tawny sands") imbued with iron oxide and sediments of maritime origin.
An ancestral know-how
Folle blanche, Baco, Colombard, Ugni-blanc, the age-old grape varieties of this French terroir, unique in the world, produce a legendary Armagnac. The vines have always been worked by hand, in a demanding and patient manner, and this artisanal know-how, passed down from generation to generation, now offers one of the few best Armagnac vintages. It is sometimes called "brandy" outside of France, but this precious nectar, from this very special land, has no equivalent anywhere else.
