"Yquem jouit d'un statut unique qui le place pratiquement hors de tout jugement critique. La centaine d'hectares exploités se répartissent entre sémillion et sauvignon, sur des croupes graveleuses avec un sous-sol plus argileux.
Le groupe LVMH (qui l'a repris en 1999 avec à sa tête Pierre Lurton, arrivé en 2004), comme hier la famille Lur-Saluces (aujourd'hui au Château de Fargues), n'imagine même pas la possibilité de céder à la facilité.
Yquem mérite plus que jamais son rang de premier des premiers du Sauternais.
