Châteauneuf-du-Pape
A great classic of Châteauneuf, always at the top... Floral, refined and complex bouquet. Elegant on the palate, delicate touch. Complete and sensual style. Great finish, fresh, back to the cherry skin.
Very intense ruby colour with velvety and shimmering nuances. The colour is deep in the middle of the glass but appears softer on the sides. The wine is bright and opaque due to its density. It has a good concentration of substance when shaken in the glass. The colour is already very attractive.
On the nose, the wine combines finesse, power and elegance from the first impression. The framework is first of all declined on aromas of very ripe red and black fruits, burlat cherry, blackberry, plum, raspberry, wild strawberry. With aeration, the wine takes on even more volume while retaining a beautiful finesse. The impression becomes virile, little by little. The spices take over with notes of pepper, cinnamon and vanilla. If the wine is allowed to air out, floral notes also appear, rose, violet and peony, with hints of red fruit that are riper than at the start. The whole is quite melted and tender in appearance.
On the palate, with the same impression of mellowness as on the nose, the attack is supple, delicate and elegant, almost sweet, with a rather velvety texture. The wine is deep and develops power and complexity as it is aired. All the fruit and spice we had on the nose is found on the palate. The freshness is thirst-quenching and the silky and very fine tannins are still tight due to their youth. An exceptional wine by its richness, its strength and its velvetiness.
The terroir of Château de Beaucastel is marked by the violence of the Rhône. It is made up of a bank of marine molasse from the Miocene period, covered by rolled pebbles from the slopes of the Alps. The Beaucastel vineyard is home to the 13 grape varieties authorised by the appellation. They are all used to make this cuvée, each bringing its own style and character to the final blend, which includes 30% Mourvèdre, a unique proportion in the appellation, 30% Grenache, 10% Syrah and 10% Counoise, with the remaining 20% divided between Cinsault, Vaccarèse, Terret noir, Muscardin, Clairette, Picpoul, Picardan, Bourboulenc and Roussanne.

The Estate Beaucastel
