Armorik Double Maturation
A superb Breton Whisky, powerful, unpeated.
Aged for at least 5 years in the traditional oak casks of the Parc d'Armorique, then matured by resting for several months in sherry casks, Armorik Double Maturation is reduced to 46° in order to bring out the best of its rich aromas. The master distiller has brought all his attention and know-how to the elaboration of this whisky of character with typically Breton notes.
Style: Fresh and fruity.
Colour: golden.
Nose: the fruit notes (apples and citrus fruits) are accompanied by salted butter caramel, a light woody note and some marine notes.
Palate: the beautiful attack in the mouth presents pleasant woody, smoky and peaty (iodine) notes, underlining the fruit and heather honey.
Finish: rather long, highlighting tasty notes of spices, iodine and aniseed.
THE BRAND
Produced from malted and unmalted barley, Armorik's single malts make a strong statement about their Breton origins: not only are they all aged in Brittany, but they also very often have notes of iodine, salted butter caramel and baked apples, reminiscent of the region's culinary culture and the many traditions of alcohol production. There is also a blend, Armorik Breizh, which has lighter, fruitier notes, but is still true to the spirit of the other bottlings.
