A very great Chateau Chalon! Rich and precise with unlimited notes of spices, curry, cinnamon, phenomenal length...

"A wine made with love and passion can only create an emotion... One finds in a wine the personalities and characters of those who made it because each gesture, each operation, each decision has its importance.Living things are so well made that if we talk about natural wine, there are no two identical wines in the world, unlike industrial wines which all look the same. The industrialisation of wine means the end of all these identities, these nuances, these characters which make the magic of a bottle

The work on our estate is a summary of all this.

Exceptional terroirs, such as Bruyères, La Mailloche, En Barberon, Curon.
An ever increasing search for expression: our 46 ha of vines are now cultivated in Biodynamic methods (Demeter certification) to let the soil live, to have grapes free of chemicals, to allow fermentation with natural yeasts, to reduce the amount of sulphur in the cellar.

This search for aromatic diversity has led us to produce 36 different cuvées, often terroir by terroir, with many innovations taking into account the extraordinary potential of the Jura vineyards.

Our working method requires a lot of effort from us and our whole team. There are 15 of us working all year round, helped by a few students in the summer, and in September...50 grape-pickers.

Finally, there is no shortage of projects between the creation of new vintages or the replanting of vines such as Clos de la Tour de Curon, not forgetting the desire to go further and further in the quality that is so dear to our hearts.

The Estate Stéphane Tissot

The Domaine André et Mireille Tissot of Bénédicte and Stéphane Tissot was created in 1962 and is located in Montigny-les-Arsures, a small town close to Arbois, the capital of Jura wines. Stéphane Tissot and his wife Bénédicte officially took over the estate in 1990.

Convinced of the benefits of the cleanest possible cultivation, the talented winegrower has endeavoured since the beginning to convert all his vines to organic cultivation (certification in 1999) and then to biodynamic cultivation since 2004, on the 50 hectares that make up his vineyard. The production of his own compost, the use of various herbal teas, everything is done to give the vines new vigour in order to bring out all the minerality of the terroir.
Because apart from his desire to produce natural wines, far from all the stereotypes of France and Navarre..., Stéphane Tissot's ambition is above all to give his wines their full dimension and to reveal the best of these magnificent Jura terroirs

Lovers of great Chardonnays are not mistaken and praise Stéphane Tissot's wines for their remarkable purity and precision. The greatest tasters confirm this, in particular the Revue du Vin de France, which has awarded him 3 stars in its famous green guide and which salutes the performance of the winegrower and his complete and coherent range; Chardonnay Les Graviers, Vin jaune En Spois, Trousseau Singulier or the brand new Chateau-Chalon cuvée; you are guaranteed to taste cuvées which are among the very best in the Jura.

As a highlight, Stéphane Tissot has created the Clos de la Tour de Curon cuvée, produced on a parcel of 72 ares of completely cleared, south and south-west facing Bajocian limestone scree. A micro-cuvée that demonstrates once again that it is possible to produce jewels on this Jura land.

Given the philosophy, the determination and the rapid progress of the young winemaker, we can think that the estate will surprise us again in the future.
