Grand Mezcal
Superb white Mezcal produced in Oaxaca from Espadin agave. 100% organic production. Honey, pepper on the nose. Elegant smoky palate. Long, finely woody finish.
The agaves (100% espadín) are cut with a machete and picked by hand. The agave is cooked in a pre-Hispanic underground oven, giving it its smoky character.
Double distillation and use of natural yeast.

History:
In the 18th century, the Spanish crown prohibited the distillation of alcohol in Mexico. La Escondida is a tribute to the Mezcaleras, the women who saved Mezcal by continuing to sell their production in a hidden way.
