Magnum Les Creisses

The Estate Les Creisses
The Domaine Languedocien des Creisses is located in Valros, 6km from Pézenas. Philippe Chesnelong has been trying to produce a great Mediterranean wine since 1998. Mission accomplished, since we can say that he even produces two! To do this, he has a favourite terroir, 15 hectares mainly made up of poor gravel and clay-limestone for his Cuvée des Creisses, with a dense clay subsoil that allows him to keep a lot of freshness, as the Brunes is produced on basaltic soil, an old lava flow. The grape varieties are predominantly Syrah (50%) and Grenache (40%), supplemented by Cabernet-Sauvignon for Les Creisses and 60 to 80% Cabernet-Sauvignon for Les Brunes, depending on the vintage. Philippe Chesnelong can count on the help of his cousin Louis Mitjaville (Domaine de l'Aurage) who initially gave him precious help concerning the choices of vinification and maturation, Louis is none other than the son of the famous artist-winemaker François Mitjavile and his Tertre Roteboeuf treasures... The wines, which benefit from 10 months of ageing, are peaks of expression with a singular aromatic quality (spices, chocolate, dark fruits...), a density and a rare explosion of flavours. A domain to be discovered urgently because of the quality of the terroirs and the 2 cuvées produced. The cuvée les Brunes is also much sought after by many starred restaurants...
