Joliette
The myth of the South West...
Location/History :
The 1.85 hectares of Clos Joliette are located on high hillsides in Chapelle de Rousse (commune
of Jurançon). The Petit-Manseng vines, planted in 1929, are exposed to the east and south-east in a natural amphitheatre
natural amphitheatre.
Amongst the successive owners, Jeanne Migné produced wines of an exceptional level which made the
which made the reputation of the estate. Michel Renaud, a Parisian wine merchant, bought the estate in 1989.
Since his death in 2015, the estate is for sale.
Grape varieties : 100% Petit-Manseng
Soil : Siliceous clay and Ponto-Pliocene pebbles on an iron fault.
Altitude: 300 m
Pruning : single and double guyot.
Yields: between 8 and 10 hl/ha.

Vinification/maturing: The grapes are pressed in a boxwood fluted crusher and fall into a vertical
vertical crusher. The juice is then directed without pumping to old barrels. Fermentation takes place
without any external intervention. The operation can take 8 to 10 months... The wines remain in these
barrels (after racking) until bottling, which we did without fining or filtration in

The profile of the wines is rather semi-dry, complex and mineral with a great potential for ageing.

The Estate Clos Joliette
