Château Rouget
Rouget is a fine Pomerol reference, brilliantly managed by the Labruyère family, who also own Domaine Jacques Prieur in Burgundy. Under the watchful eye of Edouard Labruyère at the helm, Antoine Ribeiro is in charge of technical management.
Very full, very dark in colour, this voluptuous wine offers a heady, sunny, velvety flesh, irrigated by powerful tannins but with an exciting fatness.
green harvesting, manual harvesting, severe sorting of the grapes, vinification in wooden vats supervised by the famous Bordeaux oenologist Michel Rolland...: everything is done to maintain the wine at its best. The 17 hectares of vines are planted on a high quality terroir.
Fine aromas, dense and silky substance characterise the wines of Rouget.
Harvesting: by hand in 20 kg crates. Intra-plot approach to guarantee an optimal level of maturity. Selective sorting at reception on a double table and de-stemming.
Ageing: in new barrels (33%) and one wine
Vinification: fermentation in barrels and small oak truncated cone vats per parcel
