Calon Ségur
This 3rd Cru Classé produces great wines emblematic of their appellation under the leadership of director Laurent Dufau, with the technical support of Vincent Millet, formerly of Château Margaux. The 50 hectares of vines are planted on a beautiful terroir of sandy clay gravel, with 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. As for the heart on the label, it is the work of the owner at the time, Nicolas-Alexandre de Ségur (18th century), who wanted to illustrate his love for the wine. Under the benevolent eye of consultant oenologist Eric Boissenot, Calon-Ségurproduces wines with a classic style: pure and precise fruit, tight tannic structure, density and ultimate distinction. Their aptitude for ageing is remarkable.
