History: Joel Peterson, aka "The godfather of the Zinfandel" founded Ravenswood Winery in 1976. He has contributed to the growth of the phenomenon of Zinfandel in California. In the mid-1980s, Joel has remained faithful to his motto: 'finished wines of cowards' and created a style of wine powerful and greedy. Joel on the techniques of winemaking of the old world where wines are fermented in small tanks in wood using natural yeast.
