History: Joel Peterson, aka "The godfather of the Zinfandel" founded Ravenswood Winery in 1976. He has contributed to the growth of the phenomenon of Zinfandel in California. In the mid-1980s, Joel has remained faithful to his motto: 'finished wines of cowards' and created a style of wine powerful and greedy. Joel on the techniques of winemaking of the old world where wines are fermented in small tanks in wood using natural yeast. The wines are characterized by intense aromas of spices, supported by velvety red fruit.
