The Georges Vernay estate is one of the myths of the Northern Rhône. Georges Vernay created the estate in 1953 from a hectare and a half in Condrieu. It is thanks to the talent and work of Georges Vernay that Condrieu was saved from extinction and acquired its letters of nobility. Today, the Vernay estate has no less than 7 hectares of Condrieu, including 3 hectares of old vines. The latter give birth to two rare and prestigious cuvées: Coteau de Vernon and Les Chaillées de l'Enfer.
It was in 1997 that Christine, daughter of Georges Vernay, made her first wine. Although she was destined for the ENA, it is clear that Christine has mastered the subtleties of Viognier and its terroirs. In 1997, Christine created two Côtes Rôties. The Côte Rôtie Maison Rouge is made from old vines and comes from one of the best plots on the estate. The old vines of this parcel of less than a hectare produce a wine of extraordinary finesse, ranking this wine among the best in the appellation.
