Tension and energy in this great Schoffweg carried by the citrus and a zest finish.
Note: 17.5/20 RVF Guide 2016
The "path of the sheep"... leading to the Grasberg is an exceptional terroir, a thin slab limestone of the Aalenian, perched above the plain, ultimate extension of the nipple of the Altenberg de Bergheim looking East and moderately warm climates marked by intense ventilation. Drained by the North in the summer wind, protected by the Foehn in the fall, this very poor region where is flush with the yellow limestone scree, allows a true expression of the fruits of this very complex vine, without development of rot. Complantees vineyards Riesling and Pinot.
Mix of juicy severity, fruity smoothness, like the skin of a grape tannins, dancing acidity and meaty vanilla. Taste like a trip, an encounter, the warmth of a ground and above the shimmering of the stars. (Jean-Michel Deiss) - will work perfectly on a square of calf to Morels or St Jacques toasted sesame. A marvel!
