Philippe Chesnelong, helped his famous cousin Louis Mitjavile, still produced a wonder to the fruit on this vintage always exhuberant and energetic and complex mouth.
A classic among classics. Vintage after vintage, the Creisses remains a very nice case of Languedoc for powerful, spicy and gourmet wine lovers at the same time. Present on the finest restaurants of Frenchcuisine, found on the 2016 characteristic black fruit of the cuvée and a surprising complexity in terms of the price of this wine.
Dark dress and deep purplish reflections, tears are very thick and oily. Nose powerful and complex, very open, on a festival of ripe black fruits (BlackBerry and cassis), of spices (liquorice and pepper), of garrigue (Rosemary), leather, cocoa and menthol. The mouth extends this pleasure with an exceptional density, both powerful and expressive, fresh, round tannins pursued by a greedy final and very good length.
Air well before serving this bottle, about an hour.
