Attention nugget... Red dress, with carmines reflections with blue notes. We discover enchanting aromas of cysts of the garrigues (flower), associated with raspberries and crushed Blueberry notes. This wine has a mouth with a lot of smoothness and elegance on wild eyes, liqueur candied cherries and aromas of sabayon, with notes of vanilla cream. Very good length. Will be able to grow old but what good so it's exquisite right now...

This wine comes from the oldest vineyards located inside the Clos of the Pebble. The 1936 non-classement implies that all the vineyards inside the Clos are with the sides of the Rhône appellation. However the terroir is very close to that Cassanets, plots composing the Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Quartz.

These plots are cultivated in a traditional way, with low yields (25 hl/ha) and practices respecting nature (plowing, organic amendments, phytosanitary treatments reduced to use sulphur and copper only) . The soil is mainly made up of pebbles. The vines includes 85%Grenache and 15%Syrah.

The vineyard

(Certified AB) organic and biodynamic. Manual harvest with sorting on the vine then second sort in the cellar.

The field

The domain of the Clos of the stone has the distinction of being an enclave bordering the Châteauneuf du Pape appellation area. The vineyard consists of 44 hectares in the Rhône side and 9 hectares in Châteauneuf of the Pope, planted mostly in 1956. It is composed of the grape varieties allowed for the development of a Châteauneuf of the Pope, the Grenache grape is large majority for red wines, then Syrah, while clairette rose, white grenache and the roussanne share the majority of the plantings of whites. Soils are here particularly rich, sand or pebbles, to develop vintages of exemplary aromatic complexity.

What are all these specific features grouped in the heart of the area of the Clos of the Pebble, which make it possible to offer very high level of Cotes du Rhone, like the beautiful vintage Quartz which demonstrates the richness of these soils of exception.
In addition, Sylvie Vacheron and Bruno Gaspard undertook since 2006 the conversion of the field in organic agriculture. The 20 vintage was the first to benefit from the bio Labé (AB), completing all the quality of the work undertaken for decades.
