A great wine!
The SCHOENENBOURG, known since the middle ages is the flagship of the vineyards of RIQUEWIHR.
The greatest wines of this commune are born on this soil and contributed to the near-universal awareness.
This region is distinguished by its topography: (South side, situation at the bottom of Valley, steep slope) and its very special Geology: iridescent marls and gypseous of the KEUPER and covered by applications of Vosges sandstone). The combination of a light soil, not sticky and a basement clay, rich in nutrients, with a good water retention, probably explains the dominant local character on the vine and the characteristic of the wines of the SCHOENENBOURG.
In any case, the wines of the Schoenenbourg express undeniable skills in the care and travel, a richness, an extraordinary corpulence. Ability finally to integrate potential of remaining sugar very high, linked to The Noble rot almost always present.
Dark dress, thick, still very marked by the lie, but dressed in Orange flashes.
Nose like a Fireworks content, quinine, bursts of ash and incense, the swirls of white tea punctuated clove, saturated of passion fruit, sky streaked of deep minerality.
Mouth totally hermetic and vertical, so fresh, tartaric and remote that it becomes saline, glorious final of gypsum, of suffering and mineral vibration.
Great wine, decant imperatively.
