This Pouilly-Fumé is at the top of the quality-price-pleasure ratio!
The field of materials sees succeed Jeannot from father to son, but the beautiful clay terroir Flint remains, and the demand for quality is passed on from generation to generation.
The bouquet held endless volutes: Passion fruit, citrus, cassis, pepper, elderflower, boxwood bud...
The mouth asserts itself by its volume, her outfit and freshness up to a long and tense final, promise of a good aging.
A superb harmony between delicacy and power, to appreciate with a bar sauce black.

Pouilly Fumé is derived from " Sauvignon blanc ", a grape which clusters are formed of small ovoid grains, which are tight against the other and resemble bird eggs. At maturity, these grains are covered with a grey bloom, smoke color... which explains why producers of Pouilly talk to each other "White smoke" to designate the sauvignon grape or the wines from this grape. |

The "smoked" qualifier refers also to the aromas and bouquet (or "stock") unique and recognizable among all (the famous taste of " stone gun " that emerges from the friction of two Flint), give the terroirs exception of the vineyards of Pouilly/Loire... is what GEORGES BLANCHARD (nièvre patois poet) expressed very well with his own words who smell the soil, in a poem called "The wine of Pouilly": |
