This Pommard of biodynamic agriculture, is powerful enough, very structured and very racy.
This plot is South facing, was replanted from 1985 to 1989. The vine, "solar", ideally placed at the top of the Hill, has a great reverberation of the heat to the grapes. The small Noizons draw very rocky, very hard and rather silty soil in depth.
Situation: when leaving Beaune to the South, Pommard is the first village encountered, just before Volnay. 300 meters of altitude, the small Noizons are the Beaune appellation, on the right side of the road of Saint-Roman and the small CWM side.
News of the vine: ridging of the vines in winter. Spray infusion of nettles, rhubarb (new) of decoction of silica and horsetail, tansy, willow, horsetail, yarrow and tansy. Évasivage in the spring.
It was said in dialect in property and it was once a place where walnut trees. Pommard belonged to Alix de Vergy, Duchess of Burgundy in the thirteenth century, then to the archbishops of Lyon, at the ducal estate, to large families in the Province. As for the vines, they relate to the history of Burgundy. The monks of the Abbey of Saint-Bénigne at Dijon, Cîteaux, the Knights of St. John of Jerusalem provided here on their harvest. Just like Gaspard Monge, father of geometry and dignitary of the Empire: his daughter had married the Castellan of the country, Nicolas - Joseph Marey.
