Beautiful Pommard!
This Pommard of biodynamic agriculture, is quite powerful, very structured and very racy.
This parcel is exposed to the south, was replanted from 1985 to 1989. The vine, "solar", ideally placed at the top of the hillside, enjoys an excellent reverberation of heat to the grapes. The Little Noizons draw from very stony soil, very limestone and rather silty in depth.
Situation: When we leave Beaune towards the south, Pommard is the first village to be encountered, just before Volnay. At an altitude of 300 metres, Les Petits Noizons are located on the Beaunois side of the appellation, on the right flank of the road to Saint-Romain and La Petite Combe.
Vine news: Putting vines on in winter. Spraying nettle and rhubarb tea (new), prêle and silica decoction, tanaisie, willow, prêle,ched and tanaisie. Evasivage in the spring.
History
It was said in patois In Noyons and it was once a place where walnut trees were found. Pommard belonged to Alix de Vergy, Duchess of Burgundy in the 13th century, then to the archbishops of Lyon, to the ducal estate, to large families of the Province. As for the vines, they are linked to the whole history of Burgundy. The monks of the abbey of Saint-Bénigne in Dijon, of Cîteaux, the knights of Saint John of Jerusalem watched over their harvest here. Like Gaspard Monge, father of geometry and dignitary of the Empire: his daughter had married the country's castle, Nicolas-Joseph Marey.
