A very large Meursault!
Great dry white wine, quite narrow due to a very hard soil.
Powerful, beautiful mature blood and fresh wine.
White Truffle, grilled toast.
Wine of great finesse, a beautiful structure and a successful balance.
The vines are aged 35 years on a very stony calcareous soil, on the South side of Meursault, the limit with Puligny Montrachet, above the charms and beside the Genevrières.
The Ballot-Millot, field farm, located in Meursault, rich of the best climates, offers one of the finest and tastiest illustrations of the Côte de Beaune: flexibility and fruity great white as their Meursault.
Since the 17th century generations follow each other and work to maintain the entity of the field and grow his fame.
Since the year 2000, it is Charles Ballot, 15th generation of winemakers who continues this tradition supported by his father Philip.
Very close to nature, Charles returned to traditional culture methods. For years the vineyards are ploughed (chemical weeding is totally excluded). As for treatment, they are applied sparingly and in a reasoned way. In the future, the bio is being considered very seriously.
The vine is cut rigorously and the disbudding is very strict, charles focusing on control of the return in the spring to the Green harvest.
The only manual harvest on the entire surface of the area are severely monitored, each with a mission to control its picking.
