A must-have in Côtes du Rhône... Produced for first time in 1996. High-majority assemblage of Grenache (average age 40 years), supplemented by Carignan (planted in 1972) and Syrah (planted in 83), it is the most "terroir" wine of the Côtes-du-Rhône of Mont Olivet. He owes much to Carignan's personality, which gives him an assertive tannic frame, tempered by the bold and sweet spices of the Grenache.
Blend of Grenache (60%) and Syrah (40%) mostly aged 30 to 35 years, with a tip of Cinsault, grown on wurmine alluvial soil where fossils are often found. This wine exudes a nose of Garrigue and black fruit and develops a wide and harmonious mouth.
