Superb originality signed by David Barrault from the Pineau d'aunis grape. Aromas of spices, pepper, raspberry; mouth fresh and delicate...
The Pineau D'aunis is a very old varietal (known in 1755 in Guérande) somewhat forgotten, it could originate from the Southwest and have transited by the Charentes (Aunis and Saintonge) to settle in the Loire Valley where he found a land of welcome, especially on the banks of the Loir.
Surface in production: 0.5 ha
Located on hillsides in the South Langonnais area, this small property is held with care and passion by Hélène and David Barrault. This young couple has brought back to life this terroir by repeating, ten years ago, a heritage of old vines.
They produce superb fruit wines with a texture and depth as rarely found in this area, more known for its intense productivity and relative rusticity!
The latest vintages perfectly illustrate the progress of this field, which we strongly recommend.
The story of a name:
The coast of tire is named after a daily and well-known indigenous agrarian scene, according to which the beasts of the Somme were relieved of their efforts to climb to the property, "pulling the fart".
Since the end of 1997, Monsieur and Madame Barrault have cultivated these magnificent plots perched on their promontory.
A real terroir
Located on the top of argilo-limestone hillsides, overlooking the Garonne of 80 meters, this exceptional terroir exposed largely to the South, offers great qualitative potential.
The philosophy of the Castle
"The happiness of our profession is in the respect, the attention, the understanding brought to this terroir so that it delivers its finest fruits to us."
