Freshness, elegance and precision, the great chenin!
"Pretty low-key on the aromatic, very elegant pan in its balance between a material all in taffeta and a wealth of SAP, this very persistent wine egrande deploys a superb patina extension of great purity of flavors." 17.5 RVF Guide 2017
On the Brioverien (Breton shale) or on the Carboniferous, the thatched quarters has a very strong ability to the botrytisation. Soils, without ever expressing vigour, make not too suffer the vines. It's by a preparation of load and a quality of extreme gathering that the winemaker can highlight the mesoclimatique potential of the quarters of stubble. At this level of work, we get the finesse and complexity that only a beautiful grape surmûri can give, with in return for often less than 15 hl/ha yields.
Compared to the stubble (also on the Carboniferous), quarters of stubble has a beautiful aromatic vivacity, the mouth is always marked by the "botrytisation/minerality" balance and accuracy and freshness of the structure (the phtanite contribution Carboniferous).
