The colour is deeper and a nose of black fruits announces depth: blackberry, blackcurrant. The tannins are dense and firm and a slightly acidic finish concludes the tasting. 20% of the wine is aged in new barrels. A solid Chambolle that calls for red meat.

A beautiful vintage born in serenity.
"It feels good after the 2018 harvest, which required constant attention", recalls Anne Sigaut. The grapes were particularly healthy and ripened without any difficulty. And for good reason: sun and heat, sometimes even a heatwave, were on the agenda from June onwards. It hardly rained in August and not a drop of water fell in September. The only thing to watch out for was the risk of harvesting berries dried out by the summer heatwave. "We took the initiative of going into the vineyards three weeks before the harvest to cut off the completely rotted bunches, or only certain logs. A big thank you to my female staff! "continues Anne Sigaut. The harvest, which began on 12 September, was early, but less so than in 2018. A few days of difference contributed to obtaining well-balanced fruit without excess sugar (around 13.5° potential). Still with the aim of preserving the freshness of the fruit, the estate opted for a morning harvest only, even if it meant shaking up the harvesters' habits a little so that they were in action by 7am. All these efforts paid off. The yields remained satisfactory, except in the plots of Chambolle village and in the 1st growth Les Fuées, which suffered a little more from the dryness. But above all, the wines show great harmony, developing silky tannins and great aromatic elegance. The floral notes, which are the hallmark of Chambolle-Musigny wines, are particularly enhanced by this vintage.

TERROIR

This climate is located on the top of the hillside at the mouth of the Combe, which cuts through the heart of the vineyard. The geology is marked by alluvial deposits: gravel poured from this same combe. But Anne and Hervé Sigaut have also noticed that the soil is rich in clay and thick. It is a rather late sector

The Estate Dujac

The Estate Sigaut

The Estate Sol Payré

Five generations of winegrowers have succeeded one another at the estate, from Gustave Payré to Jean-Claude and Bertrand Sol. The Domaine is located in Elne, in the heart of the Aspres, in Roussillon, at the foot of the Pyrenees, the natural border with Spain. Reasoned protection, yield control and maturity are our watchwords! The particularity of the Domaine comes from the different terroirs with in the south, in the Aspres (Elne and Passa), about fifty hectares on clay-limestone soils, greedy wines with character and in the north, in the Agly valley (Maury), about ten hectares spread over Schist, Granite and Gneiss, here it's the minerality that speaks, the fineness of the tannins and the complexity of the aromas
