The reference vintage of the appellation in Magnum! Notes of black olive and a blood side introduce it. The definition is spicy, with fireplace notes. The mouth is concentrated, rich. The whole harvest stretches, opposes wealth, and the wine retains a strain and a magnificent tension.
With a nice material, a concentrated but luscious juice, the Guiraude will go through the years. Dark garnet dress. Powerful and concentrated nose of ripe black fruits, black olives, zan and liquorice. The dense and structured mouth reveals an extremely complex aromatic palette.
Domaine Alain Graillot is located in the Crozes-Hermitage appellation area, on the commune of Pont de l'Isère a few kilometres south of Tain l'Hermitage. The winemaking and breeding facilities are located in the middle of the vineyards, at the place called The Green Oaks.
The soils are made up of alluvials of the Rhone and Isère with sands, very little soil and many round pebbles that make them very filtering. The vineyard of Domaine Alain Graillot has 20 hectares of vines, divided into 2.7 hectares planted in white (80%Marsanne and 20%Roussanne) of relatively young vines (25 years) and 17.3 hectares in red entirely in Syrah, ranging from 15 to 60 years. The farming methods of Domaine Alain Graillot are traditional but oriented towards low yields, short-cut and light manure. No herbicides are used, the soils being exclusively worked by plow, this to promote a deep rooting. The harvest is manual and generally unpeeled.
